Healthcare providers often need an alternative to traditional, classroom-based Basic Life Support training. BLS for Healthcare Providers online is a web-based, self-directed course that uses case-based scenarios and interactive lessons to teach students about single-rescuer and team basic life support. This course will teach you to promptly recognize several life threatening emergencies, providing high quality chest compressions, delivering appropriate ventilations and providing early use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). After taking this course you will have an understanding of adult, child, and infant CPR, relief of choking, and the proper use of an AED. This course includes an online portion where you will complete an online written test and receive a certificate of completion. Once the student has successfully completed their online course they may take their skills test. Skills tests may be completed at West Coast EMT – CPR Training Division’s Orange office.
Once the skills test has been successfully completed the student will receive their official AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider card. The online course will only work with PC’s and not MAC’s.
